DIMES, DEAD EYES, AND PANCAKES

Sam's Barbershop occupies a small area on the
second floor of the Dime building. i had been
overdue. i could put my hair into a ponytail for
crissake! 580 Memories is always pumped into
the serene little getaway (today featured Sinatra,
Dean, and the original version of Running Scared--
don't know the singer) Received a wonderful haircut
complete with straight razor and hot towel... all the
while getting an excellent shoe shine.
it is little things like this that make life worth living

Sam is a GEM

closed The Dead Eye Boy over the weekend. a truly
tremendous experience from top to bottom. Good
crowds and some really spirited shows for the final
go around. the BreatheArt people are really great.
Demetri gave me a book on closing night: The Stories
of Breece D'J Pancake. have read the forward and first
story "Trilobites" i am so far amazed! Breece killed
himself in 1979 and this small collection of short stories
is all that remains. i have been delivered another
beautiful voice!
