Car 54 Where are You?

well... had a splendid time at the family reunion
however, upon my return, whoever read my blog
and broke my window a while back... decided to take
my entire car this time... gone with the wind.
fortunately there are plenty of leads and the officers
down at the 13th are working in shifts to recover my
vehicle. property is illusion... life remains good.

Ambiguity... the Devil's Volleyball

Played volleyball on sunday evening... Andy Huff (the Crafty Veteran) was involved although this particular picture was not taken at said volleyball game. Looks like he didn't get Sinatra's brown memo but capes, however, are a nice addition to any wardrobe. Spent a nice weekend hanging with Robert (in from Chicago). Also, nice Wedding Open House for Tim Campos and his lovely bride Kelly Simon. We should all have Mai Tai Machines. And thank you to whoever smashed my window in on friday (i'm pretty sure it was someone who reads blogs) i didn't need that money anyway!

Pain wears a brown hat and it's really real

A photo courtesy of Annie from some time ago at Seven Brothers. That's Dan Kahn at the piano and me pretending that i can sing. (note right behind me the elusive steve swassey..."really real kid") Craig Castillo never wore brown... i think he got that from Sinatra.

There should be a George and... Gallery

There really should be a book with photos and stories of George and the people in and around his life. Born in Macedonia... professional soccer
goalie in Australia. Owner of the incomparable
Seven Brothers Bar. Here is a shot with Nora

When ignorance ceases to be cute

can't get the picture post thing to work... it used to be cute when i was all "what's an online diary...ooh that's space-age" or maybe i'm the only one who thought it was cute.
anyway i'll just put another poem on instead... this one came from the poetry exchange between myself and mr. Robert Zajkowski.

What I learned Yesterday

i learned to breathe bad air
heavy scented with the taste of chalk
it's all about the adjustments
mix and match lungs and the geometry of skin
if i think of her as a triangle
then it doesn't matter that i'm so square

i learned to speak with a dry mouth
caught in the throat and clipped
it's all about the will
mix and match syllables and the cost of thought
if i think of her as a word
then it doesn't matter that i don't know the language

i learned to walk on the sea
ever shifting and frothy
it's all about faith
mix and match gravity and the law of Neptune
if i think of her as a fish
then it doesn't matter that i'm drowning

Read a great movie over the weekend

Well, as stated got a little bit of a late start on the holiday
but good times were had. Spent saturday night at the
Ballpark getting rid of brain cells and watching the Tigers
lose... then off to the Seven Brothers for a low key after
game time... good times with Hawk and Sabaugh. Brain
Wilson in attendance as well. Relaxed on sunday with
some swimming and a wonderful Thai movie called
The Last Life in the Universe. Beautifully shot and strongly
acted. Color and locations were brilliant. Spent Monday
celebrating my brother's birthday with family units. A much
more relaxing weekend than the way it started. All is well.
